Amity Shlaes says Obama is on the verge of making the same disastrous mistakes FDR made in the 1930s and is setting the U. S. up for a double-dip recession. I am currently reading The Forgotten Man, Shlaes' excellent revisionist history of the Great Depression, and I am planning a future post in which I discuss this, as well as the late Mancur Olson's The Rise and Decline of Nations.
